Notice of Billing Schedule Changes 

With the completion of our system-wide Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) deployment, Sun Prairie Utilities will begin transitioning to a unified billing schedule for all customers. 

Starting in April 2026, we began adjusting meter read dates in preparation for aligning all customers to a single monthly billing and due date. 

New Standard Billing Schedule 

  • Starting July 2026, all meters will be read on the first of each month
  • Bills will be due on the 30th of each month, or the next business day if the 30th falls on a weekend or holiday. 

How Your Billing Dates Are Affected 

Below is a schedule of how your billing and due dates will be affected based on your current billing cycle. 
If your normal monthly billing statement is currently due on the 10th of each month; your bill and due dates will change beginning July, 2026

 

 

 

 

If your normal monthly billing statement is currently due on the 20th of each month; your bill and due dates will change beginning May, 2026

 

 

 

 

If your normal monthly billing statement is currently due on the 30th of each month; your bill and due dates will not be affected by the new billing schedule transition.

These updates will: 

  • Improve alignment between wholesale energy purchases and customer billing. 
  • Increase operational efficiency.
  • Enhance customer service. 
  • Ensure more consistent and accurate cost allocation across all customers.
