Summer Food Fight

Sun Prairie Utilities is participating in a Sunshine Place and Sun Prairie Food Pantry food drive competition! Donations to food pantries are the slowest between June and August, so the Summer Food Fight was created to help, since hunger doesn't take a summer vacation. Summer Food Fight image.

Below are the rules for the competition:

  1. Businesses will collect in-kind (physical) donations between June 12 through July 10, 2025.
  2. Donations must:
    • Be in good condition (no open packaging, no cans with dents wider or deeper than a finger, and no smushed edges on cans).
    • Have good dates (any best buy date from June 2024 forward).
  3. Challengers will deliver donations to Sunshine Place/Sun Prairie Food Pantry on July 10 after noon. All donations will be weighed at that time.
  4. Total pounds donated will be divided by employees to get a pound per employee figure.
  5. Cash donations will be counted as $2.10 per pound.
  6. The highest number of pounds per employee will win.
