Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP)
For some customers, energy expenses are a higher percentage of their income and can be a financial burden. Our local Energy Assistance Program (Commitment to Community) is designed to help income-qualified households to help cover their energy costs and reduce their financial burden.
If you believe you or someone you know may qualify for WHEAP, contact Energy Services of Dane County at (608) 333-0333. Energy Services will assist with determining income eligibility and the WHEAP application process. If you qualify for WHEAP through Energy Services, then any electric bill assistance received will be paid to Sun Prairie Utilities on your behalf. This process typically takes 6-8 weeks.
