Register with or log in to MyAccount to view and pay your bill. We accept payments using VISA, Mastercard, Discover, or your bank account. Autopay is also available in MyAccount.
You may pay your utility bill by using your bank account or credit card by calling 1-877-885-7968. Our third-party provider, Payment Service Network, is available whenever you are ready, 24-hours a day. Please have your account number ready and follow the phone prompts to process your payment. Please allow up to 48 hours for processing.
Access your account using the Sun Prairie Utilities mobile app to pay your bill. Download the app and log in using your existing credentials or create your user account.
Enroll in our automatic withdrawal program with your bank account, and we’ll withdraw your payment automatically each month. Please complete our Enrollment Form and return it to get started. For additional information, please visit our office or call us at (608) 837-5500.
We accept cash, checks, VISA/Mastercard/Discover credit cards, and money orders at our office located at 510 Linnerud Drive during our normal business hours. After business hours, drop off your payment in the deposit box located adjacent to our drive-up window.

Meter Reading and Billing
Sun Prairie Utilities reads all Electric and Water meters for our service territory on the first of each month or next business day if that day falls on a holiday or weekend. All meters are read via the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) system.
If you have opted out of the AMI program, your meter will be read manually on the first business day of each month. Please ensure there is clear, unobstructed access to the meter and/or reading device. This includes trimming vegetation (shrubs, weeds, etc), maintaining walkways (shoveling, removing debris, etc), and providing unlocked gate or fence access on the reading date.

Many of us have higher electric bills during the summer and winter months and lower bills during the spring and fall. These unknown fluctuations can make household budgeting difficult, if not impossible. If this sounds familiar to you, then budget billing might be good for you.
With our budget billing program we try to even out your energy costs over the course of a year. We will estimate what your future costs will be and then require a fixed payment every month. This fixed payment will make your household budgeting a little easier; knowing what amount your utility bill will be. Customers on budget billing who fail to make any one monthly payment will be removed from the budget billing program until the next budget year begins. Our budget year runs August to June, July is a true-up month with everyone off of budget.

Request Budget BillingSun Prairie Utilities offers a voluntary donation program where customers can donate a few cents each month to help specific local help organizations. We call this program ‘RoundUp’. We have identified the Sun Prairie Food Pantry, the Sun Prairie Area School District Food for Thought, Shelter From The Storm Ministries, and the Sun Prairie Area School District Hunger Heroes for Sun Prairie students as the help organizations to receive all RoundUp donations.
RoundUp participants will have each monthly bill rounded up to the next whole dollar. For example, a bill of $76.43 would be rounded to $77.00, with $.57 as a donation to the RoundUp program. These small tax deductible donations will be used to help meet some of the critical needs within our community. A few cents each month may not seem like much to you, but these few cents each month across the whole city could amount to a lot of help for those in need in Sun Prairie.
If you choose to participate, your maximum yearly donation could be $11.88, with an average yearly donation of around $6.00. Sun Prairie Utilities has two methods to participate: 1) sign up digitally, or 2) sign and return the RoundUp form and pay your bill each month. Once you sign up, we will RoundUp every monthly bill until we are notified by you to stop. We will mail a statement every January reflecting your previous year tax deductible RoundUp donations.
The Sun Prairie community has always been gracious and generous. Please consider participating in our RoundUp program to help meet some of the critical needs in our community.
Gift of Light Certificates are available for purchase and can be gifted and applied to any SPU customer account. Certificates are purchased at the SPU office and can be applied to any customer of SPU.
To order a gift certificate, download the Gift of Light Certificate order form and return it with a check or money order to SPU by mail or drop it in our payment drop box. You can choose to have the certificate sent to you or directly to the recipient. Payment will be applied to the recipient’s account.
