You have the right to ask and see a solar panel vendor’s City of Sun Prairie issued vendor permit. Sun Prairie Utilities (SPU) does not partner with nor endorse any vendors. There may be vendors approaching Sun Prairie residents, falsely inferring a partnership with SPU and a four percent (4%) expected annual increase in electric costs. SPU only works with solar vendors on proper and safe interconnection to our distribution system.
SPU recommends acquiring multiple quotes and allowing our utility to assist in evaluating your proposal(s). Please keep in mind, vendors may overstate the future electric cost increases.
SPU is a strong proponent of renewable generation resources, including solar generation. You may want to consider our Choose Renewable program as a cost-effective option to meet your needs. We invite our customers to utilize the smart energy information on our website and/or contact our Energy Services Representative for proposal evaluation assistance.
